The 3D Printing Timeline
2019 – 2020: The Foundation
- The First Spark: Initial introduction to 3d printing technology, sparking a deep interest in CAD and additive manufacturing.
- The “Workhorse” Era: Acquired the legendary Ender 3 by Creality.
2023: Professional Pivot & Academic Growth
- Founding J-ST3PS: Officially launched Joeri’s Short Term 3D Printing Solutions.
- Entrepreneurial Discipline: Accepted into the Start-Up Campus Haarlem (SUCH) at Inholland. This phase moved the focus from “printing as a hobby” to “printing as a business,” implementing the Business Model and professional brand building.
- The Reliability Shift: After experimenting with various hardware configurations, a strategic decision was made to move away from hobby-grade tinkering toward industrial-ready platforms through purchasing a Bambu Lab P1P.
2024: Scaling with Precision
- Hardware Revolution: Transitioned to the Bambu Lab ecosystem, specifically the P1S. This upgrade eliminated the “calibration workload,” allowing 100% of our focus to shift toward output quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Material Expansion: Upgraded capabilities to handle high-performance engineering filaments, including Carbon Fiber reinforced polymers (PAHT-CF).
2025: Operational Maturity
- Self-Sustaining Excellence: J-ST3PS reached a major milestone: becoming a fully self-sustaining operation through a blend of custom manufacturing and educational workshops/lectures.
- The Power of Partnership: Established a strategic alliance with Tridity3D. This symbiotic relationship allows us to offer clients a “best of both worlds” solution: Tridity3D handles high-volume PLA/PETG production, while J-ST3PS focuses on specialized, high-complexity technical prints.
- Quality First: Formalized a robust Quality Assurance (QA) process, ensuring every part shipped meets strict tolerances.
- R&D: Experimentation with new materials such as ASA Aero to fill new customer demands.
2026: The Niche Frontier
- High-Barrier Expertise: In an era where basic 3d printing is everywhere, J-ST3PS has moved into the “Expert-Only” material space.
- Advanced Applications: We now specialize in materials that require high skill and specific environmental controls, such as:
- PAHT-CF: High-temperature Carbon Fiber Nylon for structural parts.
- ASA Aero: Lightweight, weather-resistant parts for aerospace and RC.
- TPU: Precision-tuned flexibles for functional gaskets and seals.
